Traveling With Your RV During the Fall
Just because the temperatures have cooled off with the arrival of fall doesn’t mean you have to stop using your RV! In fact, traveling in your RV during fall can be particularly rewarding for a number of reasons: you’ll save money on campgrounds since it’s the off-season and you can take advantage of unique fall events, such as festivals or even just admiring colorful foliage. Here’s what you should do to prepare for a fall vacation in your RV.
Look For Places to Go
There may be any number of great events around you in the fall, including harvest celebrations, beer festivals like Oktoberfests, arts & crafts fairs, and even Halloween parties. You could head out of town to find a quaint small town for a weekend getaway with a visit to a local farm and some antiquing, or you could look for a campground that’s hosting a fall event near you.
Pack Warm Blankets & Clothing
You’re going to need to bundle up when traveling in the fall here in the Midwest, particularly during the evenings. Make sure everyone’s got jackets or coats packed, along with mittens or gloves, scarves, and hats to stay warm. Layer up on sweaters over T-shirts and leggings under pants for additional comfort. Some heavy wool blankets or cozy fleece blankets are good for sitting out under the stars by the campfire at night.
