Remote Work For RVers
Whether you want to live and work full-time in your RV or you want to travel frequently while working remotely, there are some things you’ll need to do in order to ensure your success. For maximum productivity, you should take the time to set up a working space in your RV. Here are a few things to consider when doing so.
Prioritize Connectivity
Anyone who is working remotely is going to need a good, strong internet connection, first and foremost. While you could rely on the free Wi-Fi available at many campgrounds, this isn’t ideal, since these Wi-Fi systems are often overloaded by campers watching TV and using the internet heavily. You can try using a signal-boosting device to improve your internet connection or you can invest in a hotspot through your cellular data carrier that will always be accessible to you.
Create a Work Space
While you can probably work sitting nearly anywhere, even in a folding chair outside your RV, it can be helpful to have a permanent and separate work space available to you to improve your focus. Invest in a small laptop desk that you can set up in a corner of your living room or bedroom, with a lamp and sufficient room for your laptop, mouse, keyboard, speakers and anything else you may need. A power strip can help you have space to plug in all of your electronics. Invest in a good pair of headphones so you can block out noises while you work.
